Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987. The national 2023 Women’s History Month theme is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.” Throughout the month of March, we will join National Women’s History Alliance in recognizing women, past and present, who have been active in all forms of media and story telling, including print, radio, TV, stage, screen, blogs, podcasts, news and social media. This timely theme honors women in every community who have devoted their lives and talents to producing art and news, pursuing truth, and reflecting society decade after decade. Our story-telling sisters in the media are essential to make our collective history visible; together, we can know the story landscape.
